1. Introduction
The Old Mart Gym is operated by Maud Village Trust, a community charity. By purchasing a pass, attending a class, becoming a member, or entering the premises, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
2. Membership & Payments
We offer monthly rolling membership and pay-as-you-go options.
Membership renews automatically until cancelled.
Refunds are issued only at the discretion of the Management Team.
Membership freezes are not currently available.
Membership may be suspended or cancelled for misuse of the facility or breach of policy.
3. Class Bookings & Cancellations
Classes must be pre-booked.
A minimum of 4 hours’ notice is required to cancel without charge.
Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged in full.
Repeated no-shows may result in restricted booking access.
4. Health, Safety & Liability
All new members must complete a PAR-Q / health form.
All users train at their own risk.
Proper technique and safe use of equipment must be maintained.
Suitable clothing and appropriate footwear must be worn at all times.
5. Age & Supervision
Ages 13–15 must be accompanied by a supervising adult and have parental consent.
Ages 16+ may train independently.
Proof of age may be requested.
6. Conduct & Zero Tolerance Policy
The gym operates a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, harassment, intimidation, or discrimination.
Members must treat staff, volunteers and other users with respect.
Breaches may result in removal from the premises and/or cancellation of membership without refund.
7. Mobile Phone Use & Personal Items
No phone calls are permitted on the gym floor.
Filming or photographing others without consent is not allowed.
Personal belongings should be stored in the changing area.
The gym accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items.
8. Equipment Care & Damage
Equipment must be used correctly and returned after use.
Users must wipe down equipment after use.
Wilful damage or neglect may result in liability for repair or replacement costs.
9. CCTV & Security
CCTV operates throughout the facility for safeguarding and security.
Footage may be shared with authorities where legally required.
10. GDPR & Data Protection
We comply with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Personal data is collected only for legitimate operational and safety purposes.
11. Exercise Referral
Exercise referral clients follow the same Terms & Conditions.
Referral users must follow their personalised programme for safety.
12. Changes to These Terms
The Management Team may review or update these Terms at any time.
Members will be notified of significant changes.
13. Personal Training Sessions
Personal Training sessions are arranged directly with your trainer in advance.
If you need to cancel or move your session, please give at least 24 hours’ notice so the space can be offered to someone else.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged as normal.
Your trainer will also aim to give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice if they need to cancel.
In the rare case of illness or emergency, the session will be rescheduled at no cost to you.
If late cancellations become frequent, we may review future bookings so spaces remain fair for all members.
PT sessions are not transferable to other people unless agreed with the Management Team.
